Suzy Hansen: Bio


      Suzy Hansen is an American journalist and author who has lived in Istanbul for 12 years. Her first book, Notes on a Foreign Country, was published in 2017 by FSG. It was a Finalist for the 2018 Pulitzer Prize in General Nonfiction, and the winner of the Overseas Press Club’s Cornelius Ryan Award for Best Nonfiction Book on International Affairs.

She is also a contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine, and has written for the Washington Post, the New York Review of Books, the London Review of Books, Vogue, the Baffler, the New York Times Book Review, Bloomberg Businessweek, The New Republic, GQ, Bookforum, Bidoun, and other publications. She was recently named a Visiting Ferris Professor of Journalism at Princeton University.
